It was worth it!

He may not have stuck with lessons; and eventually we just sold the set, but the Christmas morning that my some woke us up because Santa had brought him a drum set, we realized…

… it was all worth it!

If you know me, you know my son, he is very sensitive, but never shows emotion. So, that particular Christmas morning when he woke us up screaming that he got exactly what he wanted, tears streaming down his face, we realized that the expense was well worth it to see the joy on his face at that moment.

Yep, he hated the drums. Of course, me, mom, kept pushing him to take the lessons because, “you will eventually like it, you’ve just not been doing it long enough.” Whatever – I stopped thinking that a long time ago. When they say, “Mom this sucks!” believe them!

It’s OK though. The drums, at the time, served their purpose. He cried, smiled, and he was happy. And, mom was happy when she found a buyer to take those drums off her hands.

They gave my son joy, now off to give another kid some happiness.

Bye-bye.

What is that? Oh, quiet. Winking smile

I have a son who wanted the drums too. He got them last Christmas. He practiced and practiced and was actually pretty good, then the summer came with the intense heat (100º every day for about 4 months) and then temp in the garage got too stifling and drumming came to an end (I wouldn’t want to practice in there either). Now we move in 1 week and said son has requested that now he has his own bedroom in our new house, can he please have drum kit in bedroom?

I will be spending lots of time time outdoors when he is at home!

      Lou :-)
